Announcing Availability of the Salesforce App for Outlook

Screen Shot 2015-03-18 at 9.10.09 AMToday, we’re excited to announce the new Salesforce App for Outlook. This exciting integration gives you a brand new way to experience Salesforce, right from Outlook and Office 365. Even better, it’s 100 percent cloud based with nothing to install! The Salesforce App for Outlook is the latest milestone of our strategic partnership with Microsoft.

We built the app with the goal of making you more successful by enabling you to view Salesforce contacts, leads, accounts, opportunities, cases and users in context of email — seamlessly inside of Outlook. Now you can leverage Salesforce right within Outlook to determine the best next steps in a deal and stay on top of open support issues.

The Salesforce App for Outlook is currently in beta and requires a subscription to Salesforce Enterprise Edition (or higher). The app works with Mac and Windows and Outlook 2013 and Outlook Web App today. We are working closely with Microsoft to make the app work with new Outlook products in future releases. For users of legacy, on-premise versions of Outlook, the Salesforce for Outlook plug-in remains supported and the team is adding new features in every release.

Please contact your company Salesforce administrator to activate the Salesforce App for Outlook. Once activated, you can get the application for free from the store by visiting the Microsoft Office store at store.office.com. See the video below for additional details.
